How to Recruit Valet Attendants: Where to Find Them and How to Write the Ad

To recruit valet attendants, state the driving record standard and the tip policy up front, because those two things decide who applies. Recruit from servers, hosts, delivery and rideshare drivers, students and athletes who want fast-paced outdoor work, and lead the ad with the base rate, tips and the peak hours. Keep the mobile application to license, record and availability, run the motor vehicle record check early, and put finalists through a short driving check before the offer.

Who you are recruiting

BLS counts valets as parking attendants. The occupation had 139,200 jobs in 2025, projected to reach 142,000 by 2035, a 2.0 percent increase, with about 16,400 openings a year (BLS Employment Projections 2025-35). BLS lists no formal educational credential as the typical entry requirement and short-term on-the-job training. The May 2025 median annual wage was $35,150 (BLS, May 2025 median annual wage); tips on top of that vary widely by setting.

The job is outdoors, on foot and fast. The people who do it well are confident drivers who like guests and do not mind running a garage ramp in August. Our valet attendant job description covers duties, settings and a template, including the parking attendant version of the job.

Where to find valet attendants

  • Restaurant and hospitality workers. Servers, hosts, bussers and bellhops already handle guests and understand tipped work. Valet shifts can fit around their other job.
  • Delivery and rideshare drivers. Comfortable behind the wheel and with city driving, and often looking for more predictable income.
  • College students and athletes. Evening and weekend peaks fit class schedules, and the job rewards energy.
  • Your own staff and their referrals. Valet crews recruit friends who fit the pace. Pay a referral bonus after a set number of shifts.
  • Facebook and Instagram job ads. Most good candidates are not searching “valet jobs.” Meta employment ads cannot target by age, gender or ZIP code and need at least a 15-mile radius, so the application does the filtering (how the special ad category works).

What to pay valet attendants

Start from the $35,150 BLS median for parking attendants and set your base rate against local restaurants and hotels, because that is where your candidates also work. Then be exact about tips: whether they are pooled, how they are split, and the typical range for a busy night if you track it. A clear policy answers the question a vague “plus tips” leaves open. The job description page has the pay section and where valets are employed.

How to write the valet attendant ad

A valet candidate checks the base rate and tips, the hours, and whether their license and record qualify. Answer those first, then describe the pace. Sample headlines:

  • “Hotel Valet: base pay plus pooled tips. Evenings and weekends.”
  • “Restaurant valet, Thursday to Saturday nights. Fast-paced, great team.”
  • “Hospital valet, weekdays 7am to 3:30pm. No nights.”

Say whether they must drive a manual transmission, how far they run to the lot or garage, and that the job is outdoors in all weather. Dealerships hiring lot attendants should say so in the title; that job has little guest contact and few tips, and it draws a different candidate.

Hospital and medical center valets need one more line: patients and visitors may need help getting in and out of the car, sometimes with a wheelchair. Put that in the duties and ask about it in the interview. The hours are often daytime and steady, which is a selling point to people tired of late restaurant nights, so lead with it.

Screening questions for a mobile application

  • Do you have a valid driver’s license? (knockout)
  • Would your driving record pass our insurer’s motor vehicle record check? (knockout; state the standard in the ad)
  • Can you meet the minimum age our insurer sets for this job? (knockout only if your insurer sets one; state the age in the ad)
  • Can you drive a manual transmission? (knockout only if your location needs it)
  • Which shifts can you work? (not a knockout)

Keep it that short. In Boostpoint’s benchmark, the apply experience explains 70 percent of the variation in cost per applicant between campaigns.

Interview, driving check and speed

Text each applicant within minutes and offer an interview slot in the same week. Run the record check before the interview so nobody loses time on a candidate your insurer will not accept. Then add a short, supervised driving check in the kind of vehicles guests bring and the garage they will use. Our valet interview questions cover what to ask about damage, keys and guest complaints.

What a valet applicant costs on Meta

Boostpoint’s 2026 Social Job Advertising Benchmark has no role family that covers valet work, so there is no valet-specific figure to quote. Across all roles, the median campaign cost $13.88 per applicant and the middle half ran $6.48 to $29.74. What moves a single campaign most is the apply rate: campaigns converting 20 to 35 percent of clickers ran $4.41 per applicant, against $23.13 at 5 to 10 percent. Cost per applicant is not cost per hire. See the full benchmark and our hospitality recruiting guide.

Keep them past the first month

Protect the promises your ad made. If it said pooled tips and steady nights, the first month has to deliver both. Show new hires how tips are counted and split on their first shift, keep peak-night schedules steady, and pair them with an experienced runner until they know the garage.

Frequently asked questions

How do you recruit valet attendants?

Advertise on Facebook and Instagram with the base rate, tip policy and hours in the first lines, recruit from restaurant, hospitality and driving jobs, keep the application to license, record and availability, and text applicants within minutes.

Where can I find valet attendants?

Among servers, hosts and bellhops, delivery and rideshare drivers, college students and athletes, and referrals from your current crew. Most are not searching for valet jobs, so social ads reach them better than a job board posting.

How much do valet attendants make?

BLS reports a May 2025 median annual wage of $35,150 for parking attendants, the occupation that includes valets. Tips come on top and vary by setting.

What should a valet job ad say?

The base rate, how tips work, the peak hours, the driving record standard, whether manual transmission is needed and that the job is outdoors and on foot.

What screening questions should I ask valet applicants?

A valid driver's license, whether their record would pass your insurer's check, any minimum age your insurer sets, manual transmission if needed, and shift availability.

What is the difference between a valet attendant and a parking attendant?

BLS counts both as parking attendants, but the jobs differ. A valet parks and returns guests' cars; a parking attendant may also issue tickets, direct parking or collect fees. Advertise them as separate jobs.

How much does it cost to recruit valet attendants on Facebook?

Boostpoint's 2026 benchmark has no valet-specific figure. Across all roles the median campaign cost $13.88 per applicant. Cost per applicant is not cost per hire.

Short on valets for peak nights?

Boostpoint Attract runs your valet attendant ads on Facebook and Instagram, with all the creative made for you, and Boostpoint Connect texts every applicant the moment they apply so you can book interviews the same day. See pricing or book a demo.
