Wizehire Alternatives: Does Posting to More Job Boards Get You Better Applicants?

Last updated August 28, 2026 · Written by a company that sells an alternative to job boards

Wizehire is job-posting software — templates, assessments, an applicant tracker and one-click distribution — sold in tiers priced by how many jobs you can have open at once. If writing and organizing a posting is your bottleneck, that is a real fix. If the right people never see the posting at all, more distribution is the wrong lever, and the alternative you want sits in a different layer.

A note on who's writing this

Boostpoint sells social job advertising to employers hiring hourly and frontline workers, so we are not a neutral referee. Two rules keep the page honest: every fact about Wizehire is quoted from wizehire.com, read August 28, 2026, and every Boostpoint figure comes from our published 2026 benchmark report. Where a vendor publishes nothing, this page says so rather than borrowing a review-site number — and that includes us.

What Wizehire is, in its own words

Wizehire (older material and several software directories still spell it WizeHire) says it gives "growing businesses the tools, support, and confidence to make their next great hire." Its published process runs in five steps — create the ad, assess, interview, manage, hire — and bundles several things a buyer is paying for:

  • Job templates with human review. "350+ industry-approved job templates", plus coach advice on titles and salary ranges.
  • Assessment. "DISC+ personality assessments" plus screening questions on licenses and experience.
  • Distribution. "One-click posting to 100+ job boards", naming Indeed, ZipRecruiter and LinkedIn.
  • Coaching. "Wizehire Coaches" offering "live expert guidance", with "1 free coaching session a month" in the base plan.

Its homepage also publishes figures about itself — a "4.8" rating across G2, Capterra, Software Advice and GetApp, "60% Faster hiring than the industry average" and "400k+ Candidates Matched to open roles". Those are Wizehire's own numbers about Wizehire, read August 28, 2026, and nobody you can check has audited them.

One line matters if you hire frontline workers. Wizehire says it serves "small and growing businesses across industries like hospitality, legal, real estate, home services, and professional services" — a fit signal, not a flaw: trucking, senior living, manufacturing and the field trades are not the categories it leads with.

The distribution number, and why we are pointing at it

Wizehire publishes two different distribution figures on its own site: the homepage says "500+ top job boards and job networks", while the pricing and how-it-works pages both say 100+ job boards. Both read the same day, August 28, 2026.

This is not a gotcha — vendors count boards and networks differently, and both can be true of one feed. It matters because that figure is what gets quoted back inside your company to justify the spend, and neither version answers the only distribution question that changes an outcome: are the people who could do this job, in this market, on any of those boards this month?

Ask any syndication vendor for the named destinations that will receive your role in your market, not the headline count. A CDL posting and a paralegal posting do not go to the same places, and the count is identical either way.

What Wizehire publishes about price

Credit where it is due: Wizehire publishes real prices, which most vendors we check do not. The pricing page as it read on August 28, 2026:

Billing is monthly with "pause anytime", and the page offers "Get 2 months free by paying annually" without publishing the annual dollar amount. No free trial, setup fee or contract term is published. If an annual figure has to go through your approval process, it will have to come off a quote.

What those plans are selling: slots, not applicants

Every line in that table is priced against a job that is open. That shape suits a business with a handful of distinct openings a year, and behaves very differently for one running the same four roles at nine sites — the normal shape of frontline hiring. The planner below adds up Wizehire's published figures at the number of roles and locations you actually run, and picks the cheaper published route.

What actually decides your cost per applicant

We can be specific because we published the working. Across 891 social recruitment campaigns and 1,334 campaign-months we tested how much of the variation in cost per applicant each input explains on its own. Post-click conversion — what happens after somebody taps the ad — explains about 70%, click-through rate about 30%, and what the auction charges per thousand impressions about 18%. Where the posting appeared is not on that list.

Cost per applicant by apply-rate band — Boostpoint 2026 Social Job Advertising Benchmark
Apply rateCost per applicantShare of budgetShare of applicants
    Under 5%$53.7718%3%
    5–10%$23.1324%8%
    10–20%$11.1132%23%
    20–35%$4.4121%38%
    Over 35%$1.616%28%

41% of budget in that dataset ran in campaigns where fewer than one in ten clickers finished the form, returning 11% of all applicants. Campaigns above a 35% apply rate used 6% of budget to deliver 28%, at $1.61 each. The median campaign overall cost $13.88 per applicant; the volume-weighted average was $8.02. Read that as a buying instruction: a tool that adds destinations is competing for the 18% lever, while a change to the application itself — fewer questions, no login, no resume upload, the form kept where the candidate already was — is competing for the 70% one. That is why "posts to more boards" is a weak promise for frontline roles even when it is completely true.

    The alternatives, by layer

"Wizehire alternatives" is four shopping lists wearing one name, because Wizehire bundles four jobs. Work out which one you are actually buying before you compare anything.

What Wizehire bundles, and what else does each job
    LayerWizehire's versionAlternatives worth pricing
Writing the job350+ templates, coach reviewFree structured job description templates and a method for the ad in job ad copywriting
ScreeningDISC+ assessments and screening questionsQuestions inside the application form, budgeted deliberately — each buys precision with volume, as the conversion data shows
TrackingBuilt-in applicant tracking systemThe ATS you already own, connected to your advertising — see ATS integrations for hourly hiring
Reaching peopleSyndication to 100+ boardsNiche job boards where the pool is small and self-selecting; social job advertising where it is not; or the big boards direct — Indeed, Monster, ZipRecruiter

The fourth row is where the money and the disappointment usually live. Job boards, all of them, reach people looking right now. For a paralegal that is most of the qualified pool. For a CDL driver holding a job today, a CNA working nights, or a service technician who has never opened a job site in her life, it is a slice — and that slice is sold to every employer in your market at once.

Posting direct is also cheaper than many buyers assume. Indeed publishes that "Sponsored Jobs start at $5 per day or $150 per month", that daily budgets are charged when job seekers click to view and monthly budgets when they click to apply, and that "many jobs can be posted for free" subject to its terms and usage limits (indeed.com, read August 28, 2026). If two or three destinations do the real work for your roles, a per-slot subscription is buying ninety-seven you will never check.

Diagram of the four layers Wizehire bundles: writing the job, screening, tracking and reaching people
Wizehire bundles four separate jobs. "Alternatives" means something different in each layer, and only one decides your cost per applicant.

Who Wizehire fits, and who it does not

It fits a business with a handful of distinct openings at a time, at one or two sites, hiring into roles where candidates are actively searching; an employer with no applicant tracking system; a hiring manager who wants a person to review the ad first, which few competitors sell; and anyone burned by vendors who will not print a price.

It fits badly when you run many simultaneous requisitions across multiple locations, for the reason the planner makes visible; when the constraint is that qualified people in your market are employed and not searching, because no amount of syndication reaches someone who is not looking; and when you already own an ATS you like, because you would be paying twice for that layer.

The honest test is not which tool reaches more boards. It is whether the people you need are searching this month — and if they are not, you are shopping in the wrong layer.

Five questions that settle it on any demo

    • "Show me the destination list for my role in my market." Not the headline count — the named boards that will receive a CDL, CNA or maintenance technician posting in your county.
    • "What happens between the click and the submitted application?" Count the screens, logins and resume uploads. That path is the 70% lever.
    • "What is the total at my real shape?" Your actual simultaneous roles and locations, every add-on named, for twelve months.
    • "What do I keep if I leave?" Candidate records, screening answers, the career page, the templates.
    • "What does this do for a role where nobody is searching?" Listen for whether the answer is a distribution answer or an audience answer.

Ask us the same five. Boostpoint is priced as a product subscription plus ad spend on one bill through Boostpoint — you do not pay Meta directly — with no per-applicant charge and no per-hire charge; the subscription figure is quoted on a call. To run the comparison on your own numbers, job board ROI walks through the arithmetic without a demo.

    Frequently asked questions

    How much does Wizehire cost?

Wizehire publishes Quickstart at $249 a month for up to 3 active job postings and Growth at $549 a month for up to 6, with a Concierge tier listed as custom pricing. Add-ons are $99 a month per additional job, $349 per additional location and $249 for reactivations. Annual billing is offered as "2 months free" with no published annual figure. Read from wizehire.com on August 28, 2026.

How many job boards does Wizehire post to?

Its own site publishes two numbers. The homepage says "500+ top job boards and job networks", while the pricing and how-it-works pages both say "100+ job boards", naming Indeed, ZipRecruiter and LinkedIn. Both were read on August 28, 2026. Vendors count boards and networks differently, so ask instead for the named destinations that will receive your specific role in your specific market.

What are the main alternatives to Wizehire?

It depends which of its four jobs you are replacing: structured templates and a copy method for writing the job; questions inside the application form for screening; a dedicated applicant tracking system for tracking; and for reaching people, specialist job boards, the big boards direct, or paid advertising aimed at people who are not searching. Most buyers need only one or two of the four.

Is Wizehire good for hourly and frontline hiring?

Its published industry list leads with hospitality, legal, real estate, home services and professional services rather than trucking, senior living, manufacturing or the field trades, and the per-posting pricing suits a few distinct openings better than the same roles repeated across many sites. It can work for frontline roles; the question is whether your candidates are actively searching, because syndication only reaches people who are.

Does posting to more job boards get you more applicants?

It places the same posting in front of more people who are already searching. In our 2026 benchmark of 891 campaigns, what happens after the click explains about 70% of the variation in cost per applicant, click-through rate about 30% and the cost of impressions about 18%. Distribution breadth is not what separates a $53.77 applicant from a $1.61 one — the application experience is.

What is DISC+ and does it help hourly hiring?

DISC is a behavioural style questionnaire, and Wizehire's DISC+ assessment is offered as insight that "resumes don't provide". Any pre-hire assessment is a trade: it adds signal about the people who complete it and removes those who abandon it. For high-volume hourly roles, where drop-off is already the main cost driver, add assessments deliberately and measure completion before and after.

Do I still need an ATS if I use Wizehire?

No — it includes one, described on its own site as a "#1 rated applicant tracking system" that consolidates candidates from the boards it posts to. That is an advantage with no system today and a duplication if you already own one. If you keep your existing ATS, check whether your advertising can pass source and campaign data into it, because cost per hire can only be calculated there.

How does Boostpoint compare to Wizehire?

They solve different layers. Wizehire helps you write, screen and track applicants who come from people searching job boards. Boostpoint advertises your roles to people who are not searching, on Facebook and Instagram, and reports what an applicant costs. It is priced as a product subscription plus ad spend on one bill, with no per-applicant or per-hire charge. Plenty of employers run both.

Methodology and sources. Wizehire facts and every dollar figure attributed to Wizehire were read from wizehire.com on August 28, 2026 — the pricing page (Quickstart $249/month, Growth $549/month, Concierge custom, additional jobs $99/month, additional locations $349/month, reactivations $249/month, "Get 2 months free by paying annually", "pause anytime"), the homepage ("500+ top job boards and job networks", "4.8", "60% Faster hiring than the industry average", "95% Customer Satisfaction from verified reviews", "400k+ Candidates Matched to open roles" and the published industry list) and the how-it-works page ("100+ job boards", "350+ industry-approved job templates", "DISC+ personality assessments", "#1 rated applicant tracking system"). Wizehire's performance and rating figures are its own claims about itself and are not independently verified here. Indeed's terms ("Sponsored Jobs start at $5 per day or $150 per month"; daily budgets charged on clicks to view, monthly budgets on clicks to apply; "many jobs can be posted for free") were read from indeed.com on August 28, 2026. Boostpoint figures come from the Boostpoint 2026 Social Job Advertising Benchmark — 891 Boostpoint-managed campaigns on Meta across 1,334 campaign-months, advertising costs only: median $13.88 and volume-weighted average $8.02 per applicant; the apply-rate bands $53.77, $23.13, $11.11, $4.41 and $1.61 with their budget and applicant shares; and post-click conversion, click-through rate and CPM explaining about 70%, 30% and 18% of cost variation, each measured separately. Cost per applicant is not cost per hire; hires are recorded in your applicant tracking system, not in an ad platform. The posting-slot planner is arithmetic on Wizehire's published figures only and is not a quote from Wizehire or from us; its default view of 6 roles across 2 locations is $249 + (3 × $99) + $349 = $895 a month.
